CHANGES TO THE SERVICE IN THE MONTE SOLANA AREA (Eastern side)

In an effort to provide an improved service to your area, using newer technology, Lliberweb has now sourced additional internet capacity in Pedreguer. Over the next month(May 2009) we will be implementing the new technology to reach your area, this does however mean a new location of the relay that you currently connect to.

How does this effect you?

For those clients that have been provided with a Lliberweb external antenna, all that will be required is to upgrade the antenna to the newer model and turning towards the new location. This hardware upgrade will be provided free but there will be a re-installation cost of 40€ + IVA to replace the antenna and test the new connection.

For those clients who unfortunately still use the old 'wi-surf' equipment, this will no longer work with the new technology, all will need to be totally replaced. The cost of the new antenna will be 100€ + IVA and the installation is 50€ + IVA (maximum 2 hour install).

We will try to minimize the network downtime and will attempt to operate both the old and the new interference-free system in parallel during the transfer period. For your information, the area of Monte Solana affected is only one part of the Eastern-side of your Community

Several clients have raised questions about our recent communication regarding upgrading our Lliberweb network in your area; The following should help answer some of those questions:

We have researched several alternative frequencies and sources of network equipment over the last 2+ years, and have started to implement these new facilities,  fully-operational since the summer 2008.  The first of these facilities have been implemented in specific, bad areas of interference, down to the client level. Meanwhile, our network is currently being supplied mostly via these new facilities and frequencies, to our full satisfaction.

Client acceptance of these new facilities has been extremely positive. It allows Lliberweb to provide a much more stable, and continuous Internet supply, no longer hampered by radio-interference sources, which is beyond our control. The standard attainable download rate of  350 Kb is now a stable rate for all newer technology antennas.

It also allows us to provide higher bandwidths, up to 1Mb and even 2Mb, for those who are in real need of these speeds, albeit at extra costs. For that purpose, Lliberweb is developing a range of services, like Bronze, Silver and Gold. These new service-offers will be communicated to you shortly. These offers can however only be made if the new equipment is already installed at your house.

In your area, we have tried to minimize your initial transfer costs, by using old 'Wi-Surf' equipment, which you had already purchased. Unfortunately, that equipment is no longer capable of handling the new, improved services. Therefore we have requested to you to only absorb our incurred equipment & installation costs.

Lliberweb continues to promote SKYPE as the most reliable and cheapest way for you to communicate with the outside world. We do not block SKYPE. We also have not departed from our basic monthly fee structure of  25€ for the last 2 years, and have no intention to change this basic fee.  Recently, we have modified our part-time fees, downwards, to accommodate clients, who are shorter-term residents in Spain.

It is planned to de-commission the old network by the 1st June 2009.

We apologise for any inconvenience, and for the additional costs to you, but assure you, that you will find the new technology of better quality & reliability, with much less chance of interference than you may have experienced in the past.
